“Kindred spirits recognize each other”
This book is the first that I have read by Camilla Evergreen and I was pleasantly surprised on how much I enjoyed this book! It is book 5 in the How-To RomCom Series. I will be going back to read the rest of them!
Ellen is an adorably quirky young woman who loves all things moths & butterflies. She comes from a wealthy family but has to be in a serious relationship before she can inherit her little cottage. She decides to give speed dating a try. Unfortunately, her weirdness is a little much for most guys…until she meets Hayes, a Norwegian bar owner with some enticing tattoos who loves stars and the constellations that they make up. But this isn’t the first time they have met and only Hayes remembers that meeting from five years ago on Ellen’s 21st birthday. Some of her “friends” took her out to celebrate and left her drunk at a bar - Hayes’ bar. As the bar owner, he felt that it was his responsibility to get her home safely. As they walked to Ellen’s house, she rattled off all sorts of moth trivia. Hayes adored her from the first meeting. Now here they are 5 years later and Hayes offers to fake date Ellen so that she can get some practice dates in.
I love the protectiveness that Hayes has for Ellen. He explains even the smallest miscommunications in a way that she will understand. They are both different and both have been judged for it. There is just so much chemistry between them.
