BOOK REVIEW
How Sweet this book was! I just started reading sports romances and hockey is by far my favorite so far! I was so excited to get the opportunity to read this one and I can’t wait to read more of Leah’s books!
Mitch is a hunky professional hockey player that has a temper that gets him suspended from 15 games for fighting. He is required to go to therapy for anger management. On top of that his manager also signed him up to coach a Youth Hockey Team to help “change his image”. The only problem was that someone (Andie) thought that he was overstepping with the boys on the team. She wasn’t afraid to tell him either as she rushed on the ice to give him a piece of her mind.
Andie is the guardian of her younger brother, Noah, after their parents were killed in an accident. She is doing what she can to make things as normal as possible for her brother, however some of his teammates weren’t making it easy on him which caused his own fighting outbursts. Mitch sees a lot of himself in the boy and takes him under his wing. The text messages between them were a wonderful edition to this book. The sparks were flying!
Andie is such a strong FMC! I loved her sass and witty banter! She isn’t afraid to tell anyone how she felt. I loved it when she told off the hockey mom. Mitch with his bad boy personally were perfect! Once that ice around his hard melted, he was such a cinnamon roll. I loved how caring he was with Noah. The three of them were broken but those broken pieces made a complete puzzle.
The side characters were great (except for the one jealous hockey mom). I really couldn’t stand her but loved how Mitch’s team mates came to the kids games and how they were always around if they were needed. It was so heartwarming how these broken souls not only found each other but also a family that they were not expecting.
