What a lovely weekend!!! I hope all of the mom's out there had a wonderful Mother's Day! I know I did. My kids really made it a special day! My son made me breakfast - chocolate chip pancakes, bacon & strawberries. It was so yummy! He also picked out a dozen roses in a vase for me. They are so beautiful!!! Not only was it my Mother's Day for me but also the celebration of my lovely daughter, 21 years ago (yesterday) she made me a mom. We had a small celebration here at our house where we tested out some adult beverages. My husband took her to a liquor store where she was able to pick out some things that she wanted to try. We tried some yummy stuff! Her birthday dinner request was pierogi, Polish sausage with Cannoli and Cassata cake for dessert. It was a perfect day for sure!
I started two new books - finished one over the weekend and then started another. I still need to write up my review for The Last Chance Library...hoping to do that later today.
I had some happy mail this weekend (and today). I ordered a new Kindle cover and some color tabs for my reading! And today my book order from Thrift Books came in the mail today. I bought them on Independent Bookstore Day - wanted to show my support to my favorite book source!
This week is somewhat of emotional week for me...my baby has his last week of High School. Friday is his last day. It is bittersweet...I won't miss putting his lunches together and I am so glad that we survived this school year. It truly was iffy! He is also starting his first job today!!! He had his interview at O'Reilly's Auto Store on Friday and they offered him the job on the spot (for more money than he asked for)! He is training this week and will be full-time after he gets out of school on Friday. He is so excited!
Today we also received some good news! It is a wonderful start to the week!!!
