3 Month Check Up Update

This is a copy of my post on Facebook (lots to type and I am being lazy)...

Just an update on my 3 month check up with my Doctor. He was super impressed with the amount of weight/inches that I have lost. My blood pressure was great. We went over all of the reports from the cardiologist and they didn't find anything to explain why I collapsed other than the high blood pressure...which I seem to have under control with medication & the changes that I have made. Most of my blood work came back great - except my cholesterol. It is elevated but not crazy high (no meds needed for it). He said he was pretty surprised that it is high because of my weight loss and watching my carbs. All in all a good visit! The best part is that their scale showed my weight lower than my scale!!! I had to switch my appt so it was even lower than my scale at 3:30pm fully clothed! I need to go shopping for a new scale!

I was full of emotions when I left...because I am so proud of myself for my accomplishments but also upset because I expected my cholesterol to be normal. I won't lie, I cried a bit. Even as I was crying, I knew I just needed to get that negative emotion out of my system. Ken was awesome at pointing out that there was a good chance that my cholesterol was even higher and it is coming down (it hasn't been tested since 2018). I know things take time. I go back in another 3 months for another check up.
I had this huge realization (although it isn't a shocker)...I have a food addiction! Right after my rush of emotions, I headed to the grocery store! I was feeling down and my brain told me food would make it better. Wow! So I walked the whole grocery, I picked up some not so great items but ended up putting them right back. My "new" self told me that I shouldn't buy them. I am happy to report, I only bought healthy stuff and then I headed to Fresh Thyme for more fruits and veggies!!! When I got home, I did my workout and every last drop of negative was gone! I felt amazing again! 🤣
