Recipe Makeover #3 - Creamy Caramel Mocha

Good evening! I was looking through my stack of Taste of Home recipes to work on a recipe makeover tonight and found this yummy recipe! I am hoping that it doesn't keep me up too late with the strong coffee in it. I guess it will give me some extra time to play in my sewing room!!!!

Here is the original recipe along with the Very Well Fit nutritional information... this original recipe is 7.5 Net Carbs.

Here are the ingredients that I used today...

A little side note, I didn't have an Sugar Free Caramel Syrup so I used the recipe from Wholesome Yum. You can find the recipe here. It has 0 carbs in it because it uses Monk Fruit. I am including the nutritional information from the website as well.

What I changed...

* I used the Swerve Powdered Sugar instead of the real stuff.
* I changed the Half & Half to Unsweetened Almond Milk
* I made the Sugar Free Caramel Syrup

Here is the finished product plus the nutritional information...

Now for the makeover results (it isn't as much as I thought to be honest)...

Original Recipe - Makeover Recipe = Net Carb Difference

7.5 Net Carbs - 4 Net Carbs = 3.5 Net Carbs

I do want to mention a few things that I would still change...

* The recipe calls for STRONG coffee - I think I made it TOO strong.
* I made the caramel beforehand so that I could get it in the ingredients photo and it started to cool off       fast and solidify. So when I drizzled it over the whipped cream it wasn't as runny as it was originally       so going forward, I will make it once I have the coffee mixture made.

Other than it being really strong, it was really good! I will definitely make this again! I even got a thumbs up from my son!!! :)

I hope you enjoyed this recipe makeover!!!
