Good Monday Afternoon!!!

Last week was a rough week for me, for several reasons and not all of them were bad. They were all learning experiences! Saturday was a month since my medical emergency and I am just so impressed with myself as to how I have turned things around. My diet it a lot better, I am exercising and I feel overall healthier with more energy. I have lost some weight but this is the first time that I really exercised while eating low carb meals so I feel like my weight is going down slower than usual. However my clothes are fitting better too!

As far as my diet, I have still been good about what I am eating but everyone has been on different schedules or the rest of the family mad more carb filled foods so I went more with snack-y type stuff instead of a full meal. I need to get back on track with that this week. Plus I love taking pictures of my food! Last week I did have a piece of homemade pizza that Ken made but I did stay at my 50 carbs for the day. On Friday, Ken had gotten his second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine so he was pretty much out of commission for the rest of the day. The kids & I decided to have Chinese delivered...it was the first real BIG cheat for me and I was totally ok with that since I have come a long way in those first 30 days! I did eat my Sweet & Sour Chicken but didn't touch my rice or eggroll. I really had to let it sink in that it is ok to not eat perfectly all of the time, I have control over everything that I do and with catching a glimpse of where I was headed was just eye-opening for me. I never want that to happen again, I never want my kids to witness something like that or fear that will lose me all too soon. Ken & I have so many more plans for the future...especially with the changes we want to make around the house! I have a lot to live for and losing a childhood friend last week even solidified it even more for me!

I have really been trying to get more exercise in my life - walking, making sure I get as many steps in a day as possible...even putting my all into my housecleaning! If you missed it in my last post, I signed up for the 14 Day Free Trial with Beach Body on Demand. The first two days kicked my butt! I had to take the 3rd day off and work on stretches. I could barely walk! Holy COW!!! So Day 3 of the program I am currently doing (21 Day Fix), I got back on the saddle and have really been enjoying the workouts. I am by far perfect with these exercises but I am moving and trying my best. I often find myself doing the modified versions but even today I found myself pushing to do more. Today I did Day 5 (The Cardio Fix) and worked my butt off but the shocker for me is that my body recovered so much easier than last week!!!

So my plans for this week - I will be working on another Recipe Makeover, I need to get going with the February section of "The Happiness Project" and continue to work on the goals for January (which to be honest, I let slip up a little). Of course, I am keeping up with my exercise program AND I want to work on some food prep for the week as far as healthy snacks go. I should probably work on my embroidery business a bit - I have an online vendor show this week...and maybe some more purging around the house!!! Note to self, schedule a donation pick up!

What do you have going on this week?

Enjoy your Monday!
