𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬:
WOW! I absolutely adored these books! I read Spark it in one sitting and had a book hangover the next day! I started book 2 almost immediately! I loved all of the twists & turns in these books. I loved this enchanted, magically, world that Penn Cole created!
I did enjoy book 1 more than 2. I felt that Diem could have made some better decisions. Yes, she wanted to do things differently with a middle ground but she hurt so many people on both sides in the process. The support characters were fantastic (except Henri and his group). I really, really disliked Henri! It was upsetting that she stood by his side even when he slowly started to show himself - I get that he was her first love but his colors were really showing and she ignored them.
While I do love a good slow burn for me this was TOO slow of a burn! I did feel that both of these books could have been shorter. At times, I felt that the story had some pacing issues, more so in book 2 BUT overall, this is a fantastic series.I would definitely recommend it to all who love a good Romantasy! Not to mention these special editions are absolutely stunning!
