𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬: Alice and her two best friends opened a Bookstore called No Shelf Control. Obviously a book lover, she prefers to listen to audiobooks, the only issue is that the neighbors' music is often so loud that she can hear it over her book! Deacon is a single parent to his niece after his sister had passed away. He moved to New York to keep Lola (his niece) in her current school. Lola is a dancer who also loves to read and quickly forms a connection with Alice.
Deacon owns the bar next to the bookstore, he has issues with volume control with his music while working out. Alice has confronted him on more than one occasion that usually ends up with them arguing but she quickly forms a bond with both Deacon and Lola!

𝐀𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬: I loved this book so much! This book couple is my favorite of this series so far! I loved everything about them - enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes! I enjoyed the banter between Alice & Deacon, even the banter between Deacon & Lola! Grumpy MMC’s are the ones that I am drawn to the most - Deacon is the best! The connection between Alice and Lola is just so sweet.
The only thing that I felt was unrealistic is the hours & staffing of the bar. I am not sure how long that would last, especially in NY with such limited hours and only having one employee (with the exception of when Alice helped out)? But it doesn’t take away from the love I have for this book! It’s definitely a must read!
