Book Review
Resisting My Boss is Book 2 of For the Love of RomComs by Marion De Re! I am truly loving this series and can’t wait to read more of Marion’s books!
Lina moved to London for a job as an Assistant Editor in Chief of a fashion magazine (Fashion Warehouse). She loved her boss, loved her job (most parts of it anyway) and started making a few friends at work! One night she decided to go out with her new friend Roxy when a hunky guy came to her rescue of an unwanted pick-up. She decided that she would be “London Lina” for the night and go home with this hunky hero…until she had second thoughts and ghosted him.
Jude also working in the fashion magazine industry, was assigned a new position at Fashion Warehouse where he will be taking over the Editor in Chief position. He is a workaholic trying to prove himself to his father (while adhering to the clause in his grandfather’s will to work 5 years for the family business in order to earn his part of the business). Imagine his surprise when the girl who ghosted him is his assistant!
I absolutely loved Jude in this book. I tend to fall for the grumpy MC’s but he is a complete cinnamon roll here - the way he takes care of Lina when she is sick, the fact that he loves to bake, his love for his grandfather. Definitely a top contender for a book boyfriend!
I adored the banter between Lina and Jude. Their chemistry was off the chart from the moment they saw each other. I was cheering for them throughout the book! While I love Marion’s writing style, there were a few times where the pacing of the book seemed off to me. Lina was a little annoying at times but I enjoyed this book nonetheless. It was nice to see the cameos of Charlotte & Ian.
