𝐁𝐎𝐎𝐊 𝐑𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐄𝐖
Loved this sweet romance! It has such Hallmark Christmas Movie vibes! This is book 3 of the Christmas In Connecticut Series but can be read as a stand-alone.
Holly is the Executive Chef at The Boardwalk. She is stand-offish and has a hard time letting people in due to a past traumatic sexual assault. She is known as “Ice Queen” to her kitchen staff. Her boss (Mr. Ivy) brings in his nephew Rhett as his new General Manager. He gives Rhett & Holly three months to get The Boardwalk making a 10% profit (by New Years Eve).
If they fail, Holly will lose her job. This freaks her out since she is paying for her mother’s medical bills. She has cancer and Holly blames herself for her mother’s illness. Rhett has less to lose if they fail. He will get to keep his job even though it isn’t his dream job. Rhett comes across as flirty, self-confident on the outside when he really suffers from anxiety/depression and abandonment issues. Which makes failure a huge trigger in his mental wellness.
This is a great closed door romance with lots of banter. I love both of these characters. They are great together and are exactly what each needs to move on/heal. It is well written and very relatable.
I will be going back to read the previous books and look forward to reading more of Amanda’s work.
