Gwen is an ER doctor in New York. She is looking forward to heading home to spend the month between Thanksgiving and Christmas with her family. Only to be surprised with the news that her mom and step-father are moving to Japan and won't be home for Christmas! On top of that her siblings have all made their own holiday plans, leaving her alone, house sitting with the family dog.
Caleb is a Hollywood heartthrob, who is also Gwen’s step-father’s nephew. He is taking a break from all things Hollywood, including the paparazzi and his career. Caleb decides to stay at his uncle's house while he figures out life. The only problem is he gets to the house in the middle of the night only to be welcomed with a wrench to the head. Thank goodness Dr. Gwen came prepared with a suture kit!
Ok so I was really frustrated at the beginning of this book. Seriously, I would be so upset if my family ditched me like Gwen’s family did…and last minute via a video chat. Irritating! I felt that Gwen really made the best of it though, especially once her new roommate arrived!
I loved the chemistry between Caleb & Gwen. Even with Caleb’s Grinch-type qualities, it was great to see them overcome their struggles together! It was great to see Gwen push for her art therapy project and how Caleb reinvents his career and pushes for a relationship with his parents! What a sweet ending too!
Not only was this a wonderful read but Melissa wrote two different versions - a spicy/open door romance (which I read) and a sweet/closed door romance! Perfect for all holiday romance lovers! And the icing on the cake? Melissa is donating 10% off proceeds to Colon Cancer research!
