Book Review:
I received a copy of All The Lost Pieces awhile back. Wow! I cannot believe that it took me so long to read this lovely book!
Nina is in Restaurant Management and is recently fired for standing up for her beliefs when the boss is shady/breaking the law. Lucas owns his own company providing security to the rich and famous. He also happens to be one of Nina's closest friends…one that she has been in love with for over 10 years. They spend a lot of time together and know everything about each other…except their feelings for each other.
I loved Lucas and Nina together! Their banter had me laughing. It was so obvious that the feelings were there…Lucas was so blind to not see them! My favorite part of this book was seeing Nina's growth as a character. Putting herself first, making the changes she needed to for a successful professional/personal life. It was refreshing!
I read this book in less than a day and felt as though I was on an emotional roller coaster! I was cheering for them from the start but I also was so frustrated (mostly with Lucas) for not seeing what was right in front of their faces. The lack of communication was annoying. Don't even get me started about Nina's choices when it came to Tammy!
I really wish that we saw more of the relationship between Lucas and Nina. And while I loved the ending, I really would have liked to see an epilogue going into a little more detail. The side characters at the restaurant were great (except Camille). I would be interested in hearing more of their stories…maybe get a little continuation of the Nina & Lucas story.
