Sew Into You Review

How cute is this book cover! Absolutely adorable! I am one of those readers who picks books based off their covers which in this case, it really left me on the fence here.

While I did enjoy the story, I really struggled to finish this book. I did not like the text chapters at all - they were confusing to me and honestly, I thought there were too many side characters and I couldn’t keep up who everyone was.

I thought the book started out really good but slowly I lost interest. It was just missing something to keep my interest…maybe not enough conflict? Maybe not enough character development?

To me both of the characters are so cute and girly and that is what I was expecting going into this book. BUT Esme was not this cute little blonde girly girl that she appears to be on the cover and because of that I just didn’t vibe with her at all. Everything about her irked me..the way she talked, the way she dressed, the way she wouldn't open up to the love of her life, etc.

There was such an over emphasis about the cannabis shop and getting high. I felt like I was getting a contact buzz just reading it. 🤭 It just wasn’t my cup of tea to be honest.

I loved Grandma Birdie! She was so funny and so wise. As someone who sews, I did enjoy the quilt shop setting. My favorite thing about this book is the yearly prom event that they put on for the LGBTQIA + community! We need more events like this in real life so that everyone can safely participate in these important life moments!
