This was such a great book! Just a Football Star is the second book of the Tate Brothers Series. It is the first book that I have read by Deb Goodman and can be read as a stand-alone. I will definitely be going back and reading Oliver’s story!
I really enjoyed Deb’s writing style and these characters (even the side characters) are wonderful! I cannot wait to read more of the other Tate Brother’s stories!
This book was an emotional roller coaster - I felt so bad for both MC’s pasts. Being unable to play the sport that Alec worked so long & hard for was devastating on top of the loss of a loved one....Oakley finally getting her dream job just to have it snatched away because of her loser ex boyfriend. It is so infuriating! But there was also a lot of laughter, love and sweetness in this book.
There was lots of witty banter! Their first meeting was hilarious…sorry Alec, but I laughed out loud! I absolutely loved Oakley & Alec together. What a perfect match even while they both fought the obvious. I do feel that Oakley overreacted a bit and that was annoying to me. I also felt that there was a lot of repetition with Alec’s loss. But both overcame so much to find a happily ever after!
There were a few little things that seemed rushed but overall, this is such a sweet, quick read!

Thank you to Deb Goodman for the Advanced Readers Copy of this book for my honest review! I have really been enjoying this Summer of RomComs event and finding so many “new to me” authors!
