Blurred Lines Book Review (Marion De Rรฉ)

This book was so good! Of course I loved the cover! Marion De Rรฉ is a “new to me” author and I will be going back and reading all of her work! This book is a spin-off of the One Girl Trilogy but you don’t need to read the series beforehand.

I could feel the sparks flying off the page when Melissa (Mel) & Braden first met at the bar! It was hot!!! I loved how they literally slammed into each other again in her estranged father’s office the next day too. Talk about awkward. Even though she was avoiding relationships, she couldn’t seem to get away from Braden. Ultimately, they decided on a “friends with benefits” relationship with no strings attached that was surely not going to last.

Marion has a way with words - I felt like I was right there with this cast. I enjoyed watching the character development of these two MC’s. With Mel it was moving on/trying to forgive her father for what he had done to her & her mother. Braden is healing over his past losses - so much sadness!

Mel was full of sass and the banter between the two had me giggling. I always love a book with a strong independent FMC. Braden - ohhh, what a sweetheart. I love how he is always around to take care of her…even if he may have twisted the truth a bit.

The side characters were all so much fun! I love how down to earth they all are even though they are celebrities. How sweet was it that they made Mel’s half sisters feel so special! Even though I wasn’t a fan of Christian at the beginning of the book, I enjoyed seeing their relationship starting to mend. I really wanted to hate Helen but I just couldn’t…she was so welcoming to Mel.

This is a perfect, quick summer read with a great ending! The bonus epilogue was just icing on this yummy cake!
