When I saw that this book was an 80's Throwback, I knew that this would be a book for me! I absolutely loved this one! Brings me back to my childhood - before the internet and all of the technology that we have today to meet new people. SO relatable!!!

Leslie and Ashley were paired up as Pen Pals when they were younger. After a few months, Leslie realized that Ashley was not the girl that she thought that she was writing to… he  was a boy who thought that Leslie was a boy. Leslie continued the lie for the next four years before they lost contact with each other. Fast forward about 15 years and they unexpectedly meet each other and the truth is revealed.

I adored everything about this book. Even though the supporting characters were amazing (and I can’t wait to read the next one)!!! This was a quick and easy read but I do feel that at times that the book was a little drawn out with the “rules” changing between them. Leslie seemed to cause a lot more drama than was needed. I think both Ash and Randall were my favorite characters - they overcame so much growing up with their awful father. I was so proud of them standing up to him in order to live their best lives. Lots of ups and downs in this book but it was really a joy to read!

I am rating this book a 4.5 out of 5 - did I mention that I am excited for the next book?

Thank you to Dana for the Advanced Readers Copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!
