Romance-novel connoisseur Tara Chen has had her heart broken ten times by ten different men--all of whom dumped her because of her "stage-five clinger" tendencies. Nevertheless, Tara is determined to find The One. The only problem? Classic meet-cutes are dead thanks to modern dating apps. So Tara decides to revisit her exes in hopes of securing her very own trope-worthy second-chance romance. Boston firefighter Trevor Metcalfe will be the first to rush into a burning building but the last to rush into a relationship. Love just isn't his thing. When his new roommate Tara enlists him to help her reconnect with her exes, he reluctantly agrees. But Tara's journey is leading him to discover his own new chapter. The more time they spend together, the more Tara realizes Trevor seems to be the only one who appreciates her authentic, dramatic self. To claim their happily-ever-after, can Tara and Trevor read between the lines of their growing connection?

This book is a Buddy Read for @HoneyDukesBookClub. It is the second in the Influencer series by Amy Lea and can be read as a stand-alone. I really enjoyed this book, though it was predictable at times. I really loved the Bookstagram side of this story with the tropes and all of the book references. I could totally relate to the stacks of books everywhere and the need to stage a great photo. It was a fun, quick read. The chemistry between Tara and Trevor was great! The banter had me cracking up. Trevor maybe a new favorite book boyfriend! I did feel that Tara was a little annoying at times with all of these ex-boyfriends and being so obsessed with the 2nd chance romance. I could definitely feel the "crazy/too much" vibes that her exes claimed her to be. Trevor was a champion helping her when he clearly had feelings for her. i will definitely be going back to read the first book in this series!

This book is a @theghosthost Buddy Read! It was full of adventure, romance in a wonderful fantasy world! While I admit, it did start off on the slower side from me but as I kept reading, I absolutely fell in love with these characters. This found family between the three friends keeps family expanding throughout the book. The fallen stars story is such a sweet concept. I want one of my own!
This book is filled with all of the emotions…love, hope, sadness, anger. I love when an author gets all of those emotions into their story! Great word building. I can visualize the scenes…although some I would have preferred not to (Lucien).
I cannot wait to see what is in store for Mae, Lia and the gang…I am impatient so the unanswered questions at the end have me a little conflicted!
Thank you to Elsie for the Advanced Readers copy for my honest review - this was a great debut novel!
