Slow Moving Sunday...with a Happiness Project Update!

 I love Sunday's!!! I still get up at my regular time and everyone else sleeps in. It is such peaceful quiet time for me. We had rain overnight/early this morning so it started out with lots of gloominess but the sun did come out for a but and really looks like it is trying to come out again. 

This morning, I made some coffee and decided to do some more catch up reading in the Happiness Project! Yesterday I finished the May chapter and today I have finished June and started July. When I started this book back in January, my plan was to read each month as it came along but when my fitness group announced it for the March Book of the month, it was announced to read 3 chapters a week so even though I am behind with the reading for that, I am ahead from my original plan. The funny part was the realization of that yesterday...I was thinking that I was in so much trouble with catching up with all of these goals...until it hit me that we are still in March! AND I realized that I am doing a pretty good job with continuing these happiness goal!

So here is a recap of the goals so far for this year...

January

  • Go to sleep earlier ✔  
  • Exercise better ✔
  • Toss, restore, organize ✔ (still a work in process but I am doing it daily)
  • Tackle a nagging task ✔ (almost finished with redoing/organizing my sewing room even though it took longer than I anticipated and already have my next nagging task planned)
  • Act more energetic ✔ (no act here - I have a ton energy!!!)
February
  • Quit nagging  (still working on this one but I do have to say I am getting better)
  • Don't expect praise or appreciation ✔
  • Fight right ✔ (still working on this too - I have caught myself several times and it feels good to take the high road sometimes)
  • No dumping  (a work in progress)
  • Give proofs of love ✔
March
  • Launch a blog ✔
  • Enjoy the fun of failure (sometimes - still working on it)
  • Ask for help ✔ (thankful to my son for helping me with all of my sewing room project)
  • Work smart ✔ (working on planning out my days - some days are easier to follow thru than others)
  • Enjoy now ✔
So as you can see, I am off to a good start for the year. I am already seeing & feeling changes too! I feel like there is more communication going on in our house, I feel so happy and proud with myself. I am seeing changes with my interactions with those who are closest to me. And even though I do have some bad days (as everyone does), I am so happy right now!!! Now that March is almost over, I am looking forward to the next month's goals!!!

I will post my thoughts on the May & June chapters tomorrow because I really don't want to take away from this post with what I have already accomplished. For me, it is just as exciting as the pounds and inches that I am losing with my new healthy lifestyle!
